Why The Year of Faith?
About one year ago, the Diocese of Buffalo kicked off the Year of Faith with a special Mass. On November 24, the diocese will celebrate faith with a world mission rosary and prayer service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, 50 Franklin St., Buffalo. All are welcome.
As proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI in October 2011, the main focus of the Year of Faith was to re-introduce, re-energize and re-new peoples’ Catholic faith. But, according to Dennis Mahaney, chair of the diocesan Year of Faith Committee, this work doesn’t end because the celebration year has ended.
