What in God’s name is Evangelization?

According to the 1936 fifth edition of the Webster’s collegiate dictionary evangelization: e-van-ge-li-za-tion, to instruct in the gospel, to convert to Christianity.
At the end of Mass we are SENT (Propelled) out to spread the Gospel to the world and each other. What does that mean to Catholic Christians today? Most of us don’t really know what it means or if we do know how can we evangelize? We tend to hold the truth about Christ and His Church within our heart and souls. We try to be a good example for others such as family and friends who have fallen away from practicing their faith, but evangelization is not just beautiful silent action, it includes words.
We aren’t used to using words about Christ and our faith in Him and His Church. We need to start with
looking deep into the depth of ourselves to know we put Jesus first above all things in our daily lives, this isn’t always easy but necessary, when you figure out where you put Jesus that is when evangelization with words can become inspiring hope for you and the people around you. We need to learn to empty ourselves of all of God’s grace so that there is room for greater grace to become ours and to give it away again and again.
It is time for us to learn how to talk to each other about our faith in Christ. Start by examining your
conscience: Where is Jesus in my life?
Ponder Christ’s face before His crucifixion, when He is doing His father’s work along the Sea of Galilee… five thousand are gathered to hear the inspiring words of our God. Those words of Christ are still present for us today and they are meant to be shared with the world.
