Rosary For Peace
We invite you to join us this Thursday, October 17th at 5:30 p.m. for a rosary and litany here in the church. The intention will be in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Invite your friends and family. Our young people need to be exposed to the powerful prayer of the rosary. All over the world those that follow Christ are being persecuted. Here at home “Christian” is becoming a non-welcome word. More than ever we need to pray for peace in our streets and cities, for those who fight to be faithful and that all will be restored in Christ. This evening prayer service is held each third Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Anointing of the Sick
This Saturday, October 19th at 11 a.m., we will celebrate the Anointing of the Sick for all in need of Christ’s healing presence at time of illness or old age. A simple luncheon will follow in the school hall. Our priests will gladly visit the home of any who cannot attend. Simply call to ask that a priest visit you or an ill neighbor
Still Needed: Can you assist us with the luncheon after the mass next Saturday morning? Please contact the office if you can make two loaves worth of chicken salad or egg salad sandwiches on white, wheat or rye bread. Thank you for your cooperation.
Men’s Retreat at SEAS
“Hope for the Future” is the theme of Fr. Peter Santandreu, retreat presenter. These are not the best times the Church has known. Congregations are shrinking, the newspapers seem to only contain revelations of deeper problems, and the future appears uncertain. In such times the Gospel has only one word to communicate to us: hope. ‘Hope for the Future’ will focus on how, “in a world filled with strife, we might shine forth as a prophetic sign of unity and concord.
Details: The conference will take place on November 16th at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School with registration at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $5.00. Fr. Peter’s talk will begin at 9 a.m. The event will end with luncheon at Noon. To pre-register, call Frank Valone at 366-5299.
