All Souls Prayer Service
This Friday Nov 2nd at 7 p.m. St, Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will hold a special Evening Prayer Service for all the deceased, especially those for whom we celebrated a funeral service or burial during the past year. During this prayer the names of the recently deceased will be read aloud. A member of the family will join a candlelight procession from the rear of the church to the baptism font. We will then entrust to the family the simple wooden cross with the name of loved one that had been placed on the coffin or near the cremains at the funeral. If a member of the family will be present, please inform us by calling the rectory at 366-1750 or at st.elizannseton@netsync.net for proper preparations.
NCCS Youth Participating Today
Today some of the students from our local Catholic School (NCCS) will participate as ministers of the liturgy during the 11 a.m. mass. They will help lead the singing, lector, and serve as greeters at the doors.
We warmly welcome them. They remind us that serving others in the name of Christ is an important goal of Catholic Education.
Men’s Fall Conference
The annual men’s retreat morning will take place here at NCCS on Saturday, Nov. 10th. The cost is only $5. Registration/coffee/pastries will begin at 8:30 am. Deacon Greg Feary will speak on “Our Great Encounter with Christ in the Eucharist.” The morning talk will conclude at noon and lunch will follow.
As the growing and harvesting season has come to an end, the Men’s Fall Conference is an opportunity to feed the Body and Soul in the company of other Catholic men, a time to refresh and nourish your calling as men of the Catholic faith.
The retreat/conference is sponsored by SEAS Adult Education/Faith Formation Committee. To pre-register, call Frank Valone at 366-5299.
