SEAS Parish News
Note from the Pastor
Many of you have already met Erin Herling, our new parish office manager who is in charge of parish finances. In addition we just welcomed John Klemann to the parish staff. John was hired for the maintenance position last week.
Your generous donations to the Upon This Rock Campaign have recently enabled the parish cemetery to purchase a 2015 dump truck and snow plow to replace the old dump truck. We are grateful to all who made this purchase possible. In the future we anticipate the installation of automatic door openers on two exterior church doors. This work will also be possible through your donations. Thank You!
All Souls Mass
On Friday Nov 2nd at 7 p.m. St, Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will pray a special Evening Prayer Service for all the deceased, especially those for whom we celebrated a funeral service or burial during the past year. During the mass their names will be read aloud. A member of the family will join a candle-light procession from the rear of the church to the baptism font. That night we will also
entrust a simple wooden cross with the name of your loved one to a family member. It had been on the coffin or near the ashes at the funeral.
If a member of the family will be present, please inform us by calling the rectory at 366-1750 or at st.elizannseton@netsync.net.
Men’s Conference
The Adult Education/Faith Formation Committee of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church will again be sponsoring a Men’s Fall Conference on November 10th from 9 to 12 Noon at the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School in Dunkirk.
As the growing and harvesting season has come to an end, the Men’s Fall Conference is an opportunity to feed the Body and Soul in the company of other Catholic men, a time to refresh and nourish your calling as men of the Catholic faith.
Deacon Greg Feary will be the presenter and the theme chosen for this year’s conference is “A Catholic Man’s Journey of Faith.” This 3 part talk by Deacon Greg will start with the story of the Road to Emmaus from Luke’s Gospel, tie in this journey with the themes of Luke’s Gospel and finish with the greaten counter with Christ in the Eucharist and what we as men can do over the course of the year.
