Family Faith Gathering; 12:15 pm Today
Parents and grandparents: Please make this afternoon’s gathering in the school gym a priority for the sake of your children and their faith. There will be a light meal and we will discuss specific ways that families can bring faith into the home. If faith and prayer are part of a child’s home life, the child is likely to maintain the practice of faith as an adult. The event will begin today after the 11 am mass or about 12:15 p.m. It will be held each first Sunday of the Month.
International Rosary Here This Afternoon
Today, Sunday, Sept 7th at 4 p.m., we invite you to participate in a “Coast to Coast” Rosary here in church. Various groups have joined ranks throughout our country as part of a 54 day novena from Aug. 15th through the Feast of the Holy Rosary on October 7th. On that day the National Rosary Rally will take place in front of the Capitol in Washington DC. Join us this afternoon as we pray for peace and for our nation at this watershed moment in history.
Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick
Next Saturday Oct 13th at 11 a.m. we will celebrate the Anointing of the Sick at a special mass. The Sacrament of the Sick is for all in need of Christ’s healing presence at time of illness or old age. There will be a simple luncheon afterwards in the school hall. Since this sacrament is a sign of Christ’s healing presence, the time to receive it is when you are ill or diminished as opposed to waiting until the time of death. If you or your loved one cannot attend the anointing, our priests will gladly visit the home to give the anointing. Simply call and request that a priest visit you.
Attention Soup/Sandwiches Makers
We need a few helpers to provide egg salad or ham salad sandwiches for the luncheon after the anointing on Saturday. In addition, we need one person to make soup for serving 20 persons. Please leave a message for Jim Palmatier at 366-1750 if you can help. Thank You.
Welcome Children of God
Last Sunday we welcomed to the family of God Mackenzie Rome Long, child of Joseph Long and Megan Mackenzie as well as Willow Raine Tresler, Emmett Walker Tresler and Wyatt Jackson Tresler, children of Benjamin Tresler and Allison Marie Mackenzie. May God keep you and your parents alive in Christ!
