From the Pastor
The Parish 40th Anniversary has now come and gone. It was glorious and required untold hours of coordination, planning and coordination by members of our church. We are justly proud of ourselves. The concept for celebrating ourselves as a parish stemmed from an idea generated several years ago by Marsha Miller. Last Saturday was the flowering of that seed.
Special thanks to the liturgy committee, including musicians and environment. Thanks to those who planned and executed a flawless (nearly!) dinner celebration including the Catering Company, Susan Larivey (overall planning), Frank and Michelle Valone and their hard working committee, Sarah and Judy (children’s activities), the set up and take down group and Michelle Valone, Becky, Bob Eckstrom and Amy Allen for their many contributions. In addition special thanks to SUNY Fredonia Reed Library, the Dunkirk Historical Society and The Observer for generously offering historical materials. Finally, we need to acknowledge the special contribution of Frank and Michelle Valone. Frank assembled the research necessary for a history of the two parishes, compiled it into a DVD and donated a copy for each of us!! Thank you to one and all.
