Due to dramatic increases in flu locally, Bishop Malone has issued some common sense advice:

-Distribution of the Precious Blood at communion is suspended for the duration of the flu epidemic.

-The Exchange of Peace should be offered without physical contact.

-Those giving communion should try not to touch the tongue or the hand of the communicant.

-Holy Water Fonts should be regularly emptied and disinfected.

-Parishioners need to remember that if they are ill or suspect this, they are not bound by the Sunday obligation.
